Property Description

Hawthorn House is a detached 18th Century Country Cottage with a large, mature garden, located in the popular village of Hunmanby near Filey. The property has recently been refurbished and offers all the modern day facilities whilst, retaining many characterful features including low ceilings, exposed timber work and handmade hardwood doors.

The cottage provides an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, Wolds & Moors and is the perfect place to relax and unwind in, whether that be by reading a book in front of the log burning stove, watching the sun set from the summerhouse, enjoying a BBQ in the garden or gazing up at the stars from the Hot Tub!

Living Areas

There are 2 comfortable lounges and a central reception room which, is particularly suitable for children. The living areas are well equipped with traditional board games, Tv's, ipod docking stations and a PS3. Both lounges boast Sky TV and one lounge also boasts a wood burning stove.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an American style fridge freezer, double oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher as well as everything you would need to cook a meal for the whole family. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining area which looks out over the garden or, weather permitting you may opt to open the French Doors and move outside. A washing machine and drying facilities are available in the utility room which is located adjacent to the kitchen.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
There are 4 spacious bedrooms situated on the first floor; The master bedroom boasts a king size bed, en-suite bathroom & walk in wardrobe. There is also a double room and 2 twin rooms. The large family bathroom is located on the first floor, there is also a toilet cloakroom on the ground floor.

Garden featuring Hot Tub, BBQ & Summerhouse
The extensive secluded garden at the rear of the property contains many mature shrubs and has plenty of space for children to play. Guests may choose to relax in the Hot Tub, enjoy tea in the summer house or host a BBQ on the patio area.

The cottage is set back from the road with ample off road parking.

Guests of this property are within a short walk of the Hunmanby main street which boasts a multitude of shops.

Food & Drink...
If you decide to cook at home, there is a local butcher in Hunmanby as well as a Co-op and Premier on the main street, so you can be sure to find all you need for a delicious home cooked meal. There is a small cafe just along the road, with Hunmanby Pantry providing you with fantastic sandwiches, salads and other quality local ingredients. If it is evening food you require, there is a Chinese takeaway, plus many other takeaways in the local area which deliver to Hunmanby, details of which are provided within your information pack.

Hunmanby is a relaxed village with a holiday-style way of life, you are close to the beach and within a short drive of the seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey. Perfect for taking the kids down to the beach with a bucket and spade, grabbing some fish and chips or enjoying an ice cream! Just a short drive down the road is The Bay, Filey. The Bay is home to a leisure centre boasting a gym, sauna and swimming pool. On site you will also find a putting green, tennis court and the John Paul Jones pub which serves great food - we recommend the gourmet burgers! Walking or cycling routes are in abundance along this coast, so there is plenty to do. There are also a selection of local golf courses within reach if you want bring your clubs!
